OVERVIEW OF PFW SS17

And there it is, another Fashion week finished ... and might I say my favourite because during Fashion week I went to Paris and I can now well and truly say I love everything that has to do with Paris. It was beautiful, but I will be doing a separate blog post about that trip over on my travel page very soon. Back to Fashion week ... and what a week it was!

As always lets begin with the trends I spotted during Paris Fashion Week:

Reveal All
The more revealing the better. Wondering why Kim K hasn't been wearing a bra and dressing more daring than usual? She got the memo early ... Having mentioned earlier that bras/bralets had already been a trend on the catwalk, Paris took it the extra mile to no bras at all. Now if like me, you're thinking no chance am I baring all out in these streets, not to worry we don't have to. Although on the catwalk, freeing the nipple is acceptable, I don't quite think we are going to get that reaction in reality (although sometimes I wish I could just walk around naked some-days). But it doesn't mean this trend is completely a no-go. I know I keep rambling on about layers, but with trends like these it is key (unless you want to get your boobs out that is).

OVERVIEW OF MILAN SS17

So Milan has finished and we only have one more Fashion week left ... I swear they just fly by! Which means that my visit to Paris is creeping up very soon, maybe a little too soon as I haven't even packed or organised anything!! But I am super excited and particularly excited to be there whilst Fashion week is on, if I haven't already mentioned ...

Once again I will be talking through some keys 'trends' that I spotted during Milan Fashion Week for Spring/Summer, so let's get into it.

Drawstring Detail
It's time to embrace the drawstring after Milan Fashion Week. Drawstring was used by many designers to add all kinds of character to an outfit. Jil Sander and Max Mara snitched in the waist, Versace used to it gather their nylon dresses to create a ruching effect and Marni used it to add volume to their garments. Already forecasting ruching to be a top trend for SS17 from previous shows, incorporating drawstring to create this hits two birds with one stone. I also particularly like the clinching in of the waist using drawstring which a lot of jumpsuits already possess on the high street.

OVERVIEW OF LONDON SS17

Another inspirational Fashion Week has come to the end, but I have to admit I am extremely excited for Paris Fashion Week which may be because I just so happen to be there during Fashion Week. I hear that if there are seats free in particularly shows they scout the best dressed people outside and invite them in ... I may just spend my entire time outside stalking the shows. Fingers crossed for me guys.

Anyway onto London Fashion Week and what an incredible week it was. In comparison to NYFW there were definitely trends that carried on through, I would actually say that I spotted all of the trends I mentioned in my last post during LFW. But personally, London Fashion Week has to be one of the most electric and flamboyant weeks as far as the Fashion weeks go, as the collections just seem to be more out there. Therefore, there were definitely more trends that took the catwalk, so let me talk you through them:

Gingham
Gingham is already becoming a popular print for Autumn/Winter on the high street and it seems that LFW has decided to continue this trend into SS17. When it comes to prints I can get very bored easily, therefore I try not to buy too many things with a print on because I will wear it once and then decide it's not for me. However, I have been eyeing up a few gingham pieces for A/W therefore I am glad to hear I can carry on wearing them for Spring/Summer. There were many ways in which Gingham was incorporated into the collections during LFW, a favourite of mine was House of Holland's head-to-toe gingham look including gingham boots which I NEED (It seems I have a thing with gingham shoes because I have also been lusting over J. Crews gingham sandals for the past couple of months). But how many people can pull off a head-to-toe gingham look or want to? Not to worry, designers such as Emilia Wickstead and Molly Goddard were more subtle with their gingham adding only one or two garments within an outfit, so if you need inspiration check out their collections.

OVERVIEW OF NYFW SS17

It is that time of the year again where all the fashionistas of the world join one another to celebrate what is the greatest day for individuals who appreciate the creativity and inspiration of fashion. My favourite time of the year is back and once again I will be sharing with you my favourite collections of Fashion week and the trends I have spotted on the catwalk.

Let's talk trends and what I have repeatedly seen on the catwalk that is soon to be a thing for SS17:

Asymmetric cuts
NYFW took on a very relaxed and cool atmosphere for SS17 due to the asymmetric cut that the majority of collections displayed. Presented were asymmetric skirts and dresses such as Proenza Schouler and Prabal Gurung, cut out shoulders and sleeves such as Jill Stuart and even the tiniest of asymmetric details on garments. I particularly liked how Diane Von Furstenberg also created a clashing combination of asymmetry by mixing prints all into one garment. When it comes to material I think that silk in particularly creates a beautiful silhouette as it allows the garment to move more freely like Prabal Gurung's incredible grape coloured asymmetric dress. I am loving this trend because I think it is very flattering for the body as it can elongate legs which is always a plus and it can exaggerate shoulders ... not forgetting that it can subtly show off a little bit of flesh in a classy way.

SHOE WISHLIST

Whilst browsing the internet lately all I have been seeing are amazing shoes everywhere! Seriously, every website I go onto there's at least 2-3 pairs of shoes that I need in order to complete by shoedrobe (is this even a thing?). I'm not your typical stiletto kind of girl, in fact I hate them because they ruin a night out and all I can think about; other than the food I am going to purchase; is how painful the soles of my feet are ... and if there is one thing I hate it is something interrupting my relationship between me and food. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to become horrendously obsessed with ankle boots because they are perfect for Autumn/Winter and quite frankly still appropriate to wear in the British weather (although this summer has done us proud).

Below are a list of shoes I am completely head over heels for (no pun intended):

1. Hannah low ankle statement silver heeled boots in nude faux leather

THE LBD

I have actually been meaning to post this dress for a while now as I did purchase it around two months ago, so I finally forced my boyfriend out of bed to take a few snaps of this outfit before he left to go to work and I was minus a photographer for a couple of days. But I must say considering the circumstances, I am pretty impressed with the results ...

TRAVEL BUCKET LIST

Throughout my life I have been very lucky and blessed to have travelled to many different countries. During my gap year I was able to travel around Australia, New Zealand and Thailand for six months and since then I have had the travel bug. My bucket list is still extending everyday but here are my top five places I would like to explore within the next couple of years (hopefully):

THE STRIPED SUMMER DRESS

So I'm not usually a dress person when it comes to summer, with one of the reasons being because even when the sun decides to shine in the UK, you can always rely on the wind to display some ass whilst walking innocently around town ... which I'm sure most girls can relate too. Therefore, I always go for my beloved culottes or some shorts (still an issue to get the right fit without your ass cheeks hanging out ... girls have it tough!!)

A WOMEN WITH GOOD SHOES IS NEVER UGLY.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous so I thought I'd get freaky with nature ... well actually just a tree and some flowers (because they make for good photos). Recently my go-to outfit for these hot summer days are by beloved pleated culottes and a crop top or bodysuit. But for the cooler casual evenings or for those days where you just don't want to bare as much skin, this blouse is perfect.

I'M BLUE DA BA DE DA BA DI

I've got to say this has been one of my favourite outfits to wear at the moment, these bodysuits are the comfiest things ever! Aside from Pink I have been loving Royal blue, I forgot how much I loved the colour until I came across this bodysuit.

I have been making the most of the sun shining lately and have taken a load of outfit shots for the blog so stay tuned. As promised, I have shot the two items I kindly received for my birthday and they match perfectly together.

VOGUE 100 FESTIVAL

I'm back! I just want to say that sorry I have been MIA on my blog recently, I have been super stressed with exams and coursework to finish off my third year at University but I am finished and will be posting regular blog posts again. But what better way to come back than a blog post all about 'The Vogue 100 Festival'.

AMERICAN PURCHASES

As promised over on my instagram I am going to be showing you what I purchased whilst I was away in the USA. I have a little bit of of everything to show from beauty, perfume, accessories to clothing. I think I have tried all of the beauty products, therefore I can give you a heads up on whether I would recommend them.

Firstly, lets start with the beauty products I purchased.

THE AMERICAN DREAM

WARNING VERY LONG BLOG POST.

Hey guys, so I know it has been a while since I've done a blog post but if you haven't already seen all over my instagram feed I was living the high life for a couple of weeks ... which was desperately needed because University is trying to kill me off.

So my family and I took a little vacay to Los Angeles, Hawaii and Atlanta. With Hawaii always been a dream destination for us all, we decided to take the plunge and just go ahead and make it a reality. In order to make the flight a little more bearable we stopped off at Los Angeles for three nights on the way (I mean who doesn't want to go to LA anyway?) and then on the way back home we stayed in Atlanta for a night.

I thought I would share some of the things we got up to in each place and what I would recommend... Firstly lets begin with Los Angeles

OVERVIEW OF PARIS | FASHION WEEK

And it's all over, my favourite time of the year. Now until September, where I am hopefully going to try and volunteer at one of the shows, fingers crossed! Anyway, as usual I have shared my favourite collections of Paris Fashion Week and I will admit there are quite a few ... but I think I've done pretty well considering every single collection was beautiful.
